The probate process in Texas is simple and fairly inexpensive.  It can be even less expensive if the deceased has a valid will.  Along with a will, an individual should complete health care documents (i.e. directive to physician and medical power of attorney) and perhaps guardianship designations.  Many attorneys bundle such documents into one package with a reasonable flat fee for all.
